This would hurt the bottom-level usage of domains from small business owners. We already struggle to scrap together domain costs. Please don't make it worse for us.

I do not support your current proposal. Nobody should get the right to decide something so important which will impact our future and our children's future just for your monetary benefits of today. To whom it may concern, I’ve recently learned about ICANN’s updated contract with Verisign, Inc. and I’m whole-heartedly against these changes. I own dozens of domains and will not be able to absorb the yearly cost increases. The entire contract with Verisign looks like a cash grab for ICANN so they will allow Verisign to operate as a Domain Registrar. There needs to be more transparency and less greed in this updated contract. I implore you to reconsider this poorly thought out change. Hi, I wanted to express my strong opposition to your plan to allow the increases in the prices of the .com domains. The Internet provides opportunity to everyone and you want to limit that opportunity to countries outside the US and to the lower income tiers of the US by allowing Verizon increase the .com prices. Increasing from the current $10 a year would be an unjust expense for small businesses. To stay competitive you need to own more than just one domain and any increase is made exponentially expensive.
