With deals that put inflationary trajectories in place for domain registration costs, the future of being able to find fun and useful domains is limited. Wholesale price increases will result in a large # of users and entrepreneurs being priced out of the system. This is contrary to what the internet was supposed to be about in the first place. Limit cost increases and provide a HIGHER level of transparency and accountability for Verisign and ICANN, lest these organizations become yet more monolithic corporations more interested in profit than nurturing this vital resource. Is there anything you greedy capitalists don't touch? It seems like if the price is reasonable, at some point some greedy jerk comes along (that's you ICANN + Verisign) and decides to flex the monopoly and hurt the little guy. The domain fee increase agreement is a really stupid idea, and I suggest you stop the crap. Or we'll lobby Bernie Sanders to do it for you.

I do not wish to see the Registry Agreement amended at this time. While a reasonable increase in the cost of .com domain registrations is to be expected, a 70% gain is borderline usury. Further, there has been no process for public comment or feedback, and ICANN doesn’t seem to have made clear why it’s doing this or what it intends to do with the additional revenue. Until these needs can be addressed, I would refrain from making any change to the Registry Agreement. Thank you! Rob Repp Lake Bluff, IL
