I stand against any increment in domain renewal price. You guys should leave it the way it is or better still help reduce the renewal fee.

Good morning, I am a registrant of a .com domain name and am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. No one other than Verisign want increases in .COM prices and the current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified. Verisign is merely managing the .COM Registry - it has no business dictating the price. There are likely several entities that would willingly take on this role should Verisign decide to relinquish it. I am a registrant of a .com domain name. I find it highly offensive that ICANN has made itself into a business model where former officials who set policies allowing domain price increases are then able to profit off of their past decisions by buying into registrars. I fear my comments will not matter, because it seems clear that ICANN has become corrupted by a profit motive that was not supposed to exist. I hope you return to operating in the public interest. I included some language from an online form of the Internet Commerce Association below because I think they have it exactly right on this issue. Again, please return to being an organization that helps the public as originally intended. I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. No one other than Verisign want increases in .COM prices. The current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified.
