Hello, My name is Mihaela Coman and I am a registrant of a few .com domain names. I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. The current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified. ICANN is supposed to govern the domain name system in the public interest and this increase would not add any benefit to the public. Owning a domain name has become a must when you have a business, a group that has a special interest or a hobby you want to share with the world. This increase would not bring value to anyone but the company pocketing the money and that does not feel caring for the rest of the individuals just trying to have a way to reach the world. Hello, I wanted to voice my opposition to the Proposed Amendment 3 to the .COM Registry Agreement. It opens the door to greatly increased prices for dot com domains over the next decade. Operating websites is already expensive enough for us all. Please keep our cost of owning .COM domains as low as possible. Sincerely, Jonathan Sherman

I am very much opposed to entering a secret contract with Verisign that allows them price increases over ten years without any competitive pricing pressure. My research indicates they have a very low fixed cost to manage the domain registry and the fact they have gained your compliance with a $20 million return to ICANN is disturbing Federal government "practice". I feel that this amendment is doing a disservice to the average person who would like to purchase a .com domain and it would only benefit those who already have the ability to pay higher fees for the domains. U.S. competition laws will continue to apply to ICANN, as they do today.” “U.S. competition laws would apply to the conduct of ICANN and its constituent groups in their performance of the IANA functions to the same extent as those laws now apply to other private entities, and thus these laws can serve to discourage ICANN and its constituent groups from engaging in anticompetitive conduct that would harm Internet users.” With respect to Verisign: “Antitrust Immunity: The Department’s approval of this Amendment 35 is not intended to confer federal antitrust immunity on Verisign with respect to the .com Registry Agreement.”
