Please do not increase the barriers to entry for those who want to have an internet presence. A ".com" website is one of the fundamental building blocks of the internet, and pursuing such a path - especially without alerting those who would be impacted - I think is a truly awful thing to do. The proposed rise is way too high. The amount of the rise should be much lower and it should not be in perpetuity. It should only be for a few years and see how verisign abuse it. It should be revised every 10 years or so. ICANN should work for the people and take decision for the people, not to enrich their own pockets.

Hello, My name is Mihaela Coman and I am a registrant of a few .com domain names. I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. The current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified. ICANN is supposed to govern the domain name system in the public interest and this increase would not add any benefit to the public. Owning a domain name has become a must when you have a business, a group that has a special interest or a hobby you want to share with the world. This increase would not bring value to anyone but the company pocketing the money and that does not feel caring for the rest of the individuals just trying to have a way to reach the world. The Proposed Amendment 3 to the .COM Registry Agreement is a VERY bad idea.. Raising the price of the .com domain will severely impact our business and cause us to raise prices for all our customers. This inflationary adjustment will be an impact for a lot of people and only benefit a very few. Please reconsider this proposal and NOT increase this cost for everyone. As a owner of several websites, I am very opposed to the Amendment 3 proposed increase of 7% by Verisign in the coming year and subsequent years. They are already charging too much for a monopoly that allows them a handsome profit. Please do not vote to increase .com registration prices. Scott Levine MD
