I am writing to express my displeasure with your proposed agreement affecting .Com users and smaller domain companies. The proposed price increase over the next several years will have a negative impact on many website owners who are mainly people who blog and have other small websites as hobbies. Hi, Even though prices for .com websites will increase, this does not guarantee that more profit will be made by increasing the price for .com websites. Most websites must rely on email list to gain customers. If a brand has loyal customers, and the bran losses its .com status, the new owners of the website address do not automatically have access to email list that was gathered by the previous user. Also, the new website user does not automatically have access to social media feeds which may be associated with a website that has a popular or well known brand name. Hi, You should NOT allow any price increases in the Verisign contract or in the .com wholesale pricing. You should NOT allow Verisign to be domain name registrar. I understand the need to keep p with inflation but I urge you to cap the increases to only 1 or 2% per year to keep up with inflation. Anything more than that is being greedy by a select few people and unfair to the community at large. Don’t be greedy.

As a non-profit organization, ICANN should NOT be allowing Top Level Domain operators to also be Domain Registrars. This is a clear Conflict of Interest and should never be allowed to occur. As such, the new contract with yearly rate-cap increases should also not be allowed.

I recently received an email from my domain host bringing to attention the sudden increase in prices for .COM sites done with little regard to customers who pay to have .COM sites running. Price increases might be fine for companies that receive a lot of income but for small one person hosts, increases can add up quickly. If you consider doing things like this, the least that can be done is to consult the people that will be truly affected by this change and allow them to have a choice/voice in the matter.

While it is vital for new developments and ongoing projects at ICANN to have the necessary monetary resources, changes to the .com agreements have an impact over an extremely large user base in all nations with all different levels of income. It is necessary that this discussion and agreement is paused so that representatives from all parties involved are heard. Although it surely makes a lot of sense ($$$) for those who will benefit with this change, to increase the price on something that doesn't increase its value is simply unfair and unethical, and it should even be officially considered a crime, especially taking into account that we are talking about a global interest, something that matters to billions. I wish to comment regarding your proposed amendment to increase .com prices. I hereby express my disapproval of your secretive, closed-door negotiations to increase our prices. You are being deceptive, accepting a "bribe" from verisign in exchange for increasing prices. Furthermore, you have not disclosed how you plan to use this "bribe money" in order improve the domain system. It is clear that you plan to simply pocket the bribe money, increase our prices, and fill your own pockets. It's disgusting. I strongly urge you to re-consider your planned deceptive, evil, bribed ammendment and leave our .com prices alone. If you need money you can work for it like the rest of it. Thank for considering my comments.
