Hello, I read the article at namecheap and it says you will be getting additional 20 million a year. How is this price increase justified and what are the money going to be spend on? ICANN is a nonprofit organization and it should have transparency in its policy. Also, in the long run, the price will affect a lot of our small business clients who we help get web hosting and domain information. Please be more transparent in your decisions. My company has been in the online world since 2006 and has bought 100's of domains for ourselves and client since then. As we see it (and it's already happening) more local businesses will avoid having a website and will be happy with Facebook page. Dear ICANN, I would like to comment on "Proposed Amendment 3 to the .COM Registry Agreement”. As a small business owner, I strongly disagree with the proposed amendment, and am quite frankly shocked and disgraced that ICANN’s behaviour over the past few years. It seems that corporate greed has taken hold over what was once a bastion of independent governance. Something so important such as .COM and .ORG should be treated impartially and with the greatest benefit to the public. The proposed amendment is not in the public interest and only benefits Verisign and the corruption which seems to be infesting ICANN currently. I implore you to not go ahead with the amendment and additionally carry our a full investigation into how such an agreement can be taken seriously when it’s definitely not in the public interest. Hello, I am writing to oppose the proposed amendment 3 to the .COM Registry Agreement. The increases in .com registration prices are not justified in this amendment and will only work to stifle innovation. Without any justification to show that infrastructure costs have increased for ICANN, this amendment can be seen as nothing else than a corrupt money grab. I'm opposed to the amendment. Reasons: * Verisign in 2010 has demonstrated that it cannot handle security breaches of scale and covered up wrong doings during that period * Verisign in this agreement comes out extremely well off with possibly $1bn to be made * I cannot see Verisign putting 100% of these $1bn profits into their efforts to improve the system (unless they can explicitly prove with financials they will be doing so) so why should domain owners foot this bill? * If there is a payment from Verisign -> ICANN, I believe companies should have the chance to bid if the contract is open to such changes, hold a proper open RFP * Are there any clauses in this agreement which stipulate non-performance from verisign and what penalties they will face if propose mechanisms are not in place? * If .com continue to rise I'll take my business to one of the other gTLDs This all doesn't sit well with me, to me it sounds like benefit shareholders and members of ICANN over those users of the dot coms. Another example of extraction wealth from users to companies. It all seems a little _under the table_. Regards, Jason.

Verisign already has too much control and influence for a for-profit organization to have in their space. The lack of transparency allows for quite damning statements like this one: https://www.namecheap.com/blog/icann-allows-com-price-increases-gets-more-m… ICANN must increase the transparency of these all of its processes. Please publish recordings or at least minutes of meetings. I am writing this email with a concern in increase in the .com prices. .com are primary domains that are accessed by most of the users; increase in such level domains are going to hamper each and every one of us who are trying to work with it. There are many small companies as well as freelancers, business house who are using it; Please reconsider it and try to keep up with previous price.
