Dear Sir/Madam, I would like to express my opposition to the proposed price increases to the .COM top-level domain. The internet is a right for everyone, and increasing the prices for the .COM domain will make it less accessible to those wanting to create something online – businesses, ventures, blogs, tell stories, provide education to people, push forward a social initiative, and other things we can't even imagine. The .COM domain is most favoured in search algorithms, and we all know that if you aren't findable via search, you don't exist. The idea that all the other domains provide an alternative is thus not valid. .COM is the default, and for that you can't let prices be allowed to increase for 8 of the next 10 years. Stop making secret descisions and make the internet more expensive. The technology of domains is old and hardware is getting cheaper and more powerful. Theres no way a 70% price increase is something you need to do, its just because you cant get anough! Stop that!

I feel the need to register my complete disagreement with ICANN's decision to allow VeriSign to drastically increase the price of .com domain registrations. Not only are the cap increases massively above inflation, which by itself should negate the plan, the deal has been concluded in secrecy with a company that has paid millions of dollars to ICANN, giving the appearance of a bribe. Furthermore the .org domain sale debacle has shown ICANN to be totally on the side of the registrars rather than consumers. By rejecting the VeriSign price increase allowances, ICANN can go some way to restoring the faith in the organisation that occupies a central pillar in the internet world. I trust you will read and act upon my worries, along with, I'm sure, the rest of the internet community. Please see to it that us consumers are protected, rather than the interests of the few individuals who stand to reap from abnormal profits. Kind regards, Nick

Dear Sir/Madam, As a small business owner and user of domains I plead with you not to raise the prices of these domains (.Com in particular). Already the prices are quite high, and I've just managed to get it in order so that I am not taking a loss on my domain. Please please please do not go forward with this plan that could potentially increase the base price by 70% in the next 10 years. As a small business and budding entrepreneur, I'm not sure I'll be able to afford that which would in turn limit my business and in turn prevent me from feeding my family. Kindly reconsider and let's keep the prices down and friendly so that the internet remains accessible to everyone trying to do something positive online and take care of their families. Thanks. Hi guys Pls be reasonable for .com pricing , it has move up quite a bit past 10 years.. Now cpanel increase its price, .com want to follow suite , Come on , guys, Pls be reasonable and try maintain its current pricing regime as much as possible else you may see a significant drop in .com sales which end up to be a Lose Lose situation for everyone... 1st , domain register will push alternative domain supplies 2nd, domainer will stop accumulating & start disposing his .com portfolio 3rd, digital agency and multiple biz website owner will start reducing their exposure and increase client pricing 4rd SMB / SME will fell the impact of price hike and buy less .... & the list and consequences go on..... I am/have been/will be a registrant of a .com domain name. I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. No one other than Verisign want increases in .COM prices. The current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified. Greetings, My name is Mikhail and I own about 5 .com domains and over 15 on other TLDs The recent change in agreement with Verisign worries me, especially the lack of clarity regarding the deal details and what ICANN plans to do with $20 million that it is to receive from Verisign as the part of the deal that can allow the latter to drive prices as high as 70% over the current prices over the next decade. I strongly believe that driving prices up for the .com TLDs will ultimately hurt the internet and it's development, as well as make it more difficult for companies to get commercial domains with no real expenses added to the Verisign. If anything, domains becoming easier and easier to manage and allocate in this new decade, and increasing prices only artificially increases the value and might drive more customers away, reducing the relevance of .com TLD I would like to ask ICANN committee to reconsider their decision and provide more transparency into the deal as the starting point. --- Kind regards, Mikhail Neverov
