Greetings, The proposed changes could have serious implications in developing countries like mine. I am an emerging Computer Scientist from South Africa and the Rand to Dollar exchange already makes domains very pricey. Allowing for .com domains to potentially increase by 70% in cost in the next ten years will make them less accessible and this is against the spirit of the internet. Kind regards, Tashiv

I am a registrant of a .com domain name. I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. Verisign is merely your manager of the .COM Registry – it has no business dictating the price. ICANN is supposed to govern the domain name system in the public interest.

To Whom it May Concern: Please do not pass Amendment 3 to the .COM registry agreement, as any additional costs will be passed on to registry customers. This includes startups that do not or unable to take institutional funding, so every cost increase makes it increasingly difficult to continue operating, especially in early stages. Hello, Please reconsider your deal with Verisign as .com is much more than a domain for commercial ventures, it has a global defacto status as a place to go and it is used as a domain for all kinds of community and personal projects. I don't agree that the price increase guides registering to other domains. It only hurts the smalltime people trying to brand themselves equally to the bigtime people. Thank you, Harri Halonen

I totally oppose to the raising of .com prices. Some online entrepreneurs like us work with 40-50+ domain names using .com. I have just found out that prices for this type of domain will increase for the next 8-10 years with a annual fee. I represent a small business and for us, as a small company every money spent can have a significant impact on the our budget (which is not the biggest considering that we are doing all with the money we earned). I am opposed to this price range, this will only hurt both consumers and small businesses. Small businesses already have the difficulty of starting up but this just adds insult to injury. It may also make .com domains less desirable as a whole due to the influx in prices.
