Hello Concerned; I am user of namecheap and holder of multiple .com domains. I highly condemn the agreement which allows verisign to increase prices 8 out of 10 years and beyond. The price increase if unavoidable should be under given limits and transparency. Such price increase with no apparent accountability seems dangerous. Dear Sirs, I have greatly benefitted from the existing rates for TLD pricing. As a single individual working in a software company, I use a personalized email address to boost my professional image. I can understand a marginal increase in price (say 5% every 5 years). But the new proposal for price increases will make owning a TLD expensive for me in the coming years. The same inconvenience would apply to my freelancer friends who rely on affordable pricing so that they can earn their livelihood. I am not okay with price increases especially when they are shrouded in secret deals done without full transparency to the public that such transactions end up affecting. Hi, I have been an active internet user for the past decade. I have bought multiple .com domains and would have continued to do so but this decision of allowing Verisign to hike the prices would deter me from buying more. I read that the current maintenance costs do not justify this change. Hence, I urge you to reconsider your decision and maintain a cap on the price. Yours sincerely, Rajat

Please note that I am against the planned changes above. I understand that according to this new agreement, Verisign will be allowed to increase the wholesale price to registrars for .COM domains every year for 8 out of the next 10 years and that alongside these contract changes, Verisign has agreed to pay ICANN an additional $20 million dollars over five years to support ICANN's domain name system initiatives, without any clarity about how ICANN will spend the money, or who will ensure that the funds are properly spent on domain infrastructure. Hi, I’d like to make clear that I do not support the proposed changes to the agreement with Verisign specifically in relation to pricing changes. The best thing about the web is that it doesn’t matter who you are or how much money you have, you can buy a domain name just the same as everyone else. Allow such drastic price increases would put .com domains out of the price range for the normal person. It may not seem trivial now. Please keep the internet open and don't raise prices on .com domains. Please do better: Taking money from Verisign and not having oversight or transparency about how the funds will get used and who will oversee proper use is bad. Verisign should not be allow to resell domains. It is a conflict of interest. Do better. Finally... you ignored comments in the past. Don't do that. Do better.

Dear ICANN, I wanted to write you to encourage you to keep your prices low to allow all peoples throughout the world to have access to diversity of thought on the internet. Thirty some years ago I only had a bulletin board system with a 300 Baud modem where I would share my open source programming free of charge with people all over the world that were new to personal computers. In fact I got into programming because software did not even exist for things that my school, family, and friends wanted to be able to do. I also typed non copywritten works and made them available to people in places where they did not have access to ancient brilliant works of literature. It is funny today I still come across things I have typed or coded that have been made available to all people. Years ago I had skills and talents in UNIX, FORTRAN, PASCHAL, and COBAL, unfortunately today I am disabled and even have trouble reading, but I do enjoy having some domains that allow a web presence to share useful information and ideas. Please help keep the internet affordable. I have been paying for the same domains for many years, and unfortunately as I have earned less and less I have lost many domains due to technical difficulty (like the Register Fly fiasco), and quite frankly high costs. Some domains I was able to get back through paying extortion prices along with providing reams of paperwork to prove my identity, others have been lost forever to companies that are very good at making profit on the web. Please remember the little people out there. It was hard enough to pay for web hosting let alone the high price of each domain registration. Your assistance is appreciated in keeping thought relatively free and readily available. Please come to an equitable pricing agreement using more input from the many interested parties. Hello, I am a registrant of a .com domain name. I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. No one other than Verisign want increases in .COM prices. The current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified. Verisign is merely your manager of the .COM Registry – it has no business dictating the price. Dear ICANN, I am very concerned that ICANN appears to be rubber-stamping a major rise in .com prices. There does not appear to be any justification for raising prices. No economic study has been undertaken by ICANN to demonstrate that Verisign needs any more money or that there is some other public interest in raising prices. The price increase appears to be purely a money-grab by an already handsomely paid company. That means only its shareholders stand to benefit from the increased price, not the public. Please be more transparent when decisions like this are made.

With the proposed price increases individual domain owners , such as myself , Will be forced out of owning our own Domains. In many cases the Domain names serve Hobby or Open source development projects. In many cases the projects generate little to no revenue. Creating a financial burden for small domain owners is not an appropriate way to gather revenue for expenses. Large corporations can surely afford an increase since they must also protect their Brands. They can and will pay more. but the majority of small developers will not be able to pay the burden. Please reconsider the fee structure you are proposing in ligh of the small owner community Sincerely David Anderson

Just found out this decision about the the prices that are going to be hiked for end consumer who wants to buy the .COM domains. Being a generic internet geek and technology lead of the company, I'd rather suggest, to look about for future, let us make internet an easy place that we flourish together for a better outcome, rather than restricting the whole world to consider the financial constraints. Please take back the decisions, it is not a good move for the generation coming up.

I am a registrant of multiple .com domain names. I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. Due to technological advances, cost of maintaining a TDL should be down by each year. This price inrease is unjustified. ICANN is supposed to govern the domain name system in the public interest internationally.
