I am a registrant of a .com domain name just like millions of others around the world. I am very against the proposed price increase to .COM domains because what does it achieve? Perhaps we should setup another network with more reasonable authorities than ICANN. No one other than Verisign want increases in .COM prices. Obviously huge companies don't care much about their domain costs, but for single users like myself, major increases to domain prices could price me out of the market. Domains are the last place we need stratification in society today. Verisign just manages domain registry lookups for you, but ICANN should set a price reasonable for ALL. ICANN is supposed to govern the domain name system in the public interest. Please do it. - Rick

Most of the bloggers using .com are women nowadays, who cant pay enough to meet your 70% price surge. Hello. I object to removal of the .com Maximum Price restriction under Section 7.3(d)(i) (Maximum Price) of the .com Registry Agreement. I also object to the new pricing flexibility that allows annual price increases on .com domains in the last four years of each six-year period. Vague assertions that the changes will ensure the "security, stability and resiliency of the Domain Name System (DNS)" don't follow from the proposal. I see no connection between the stability of the internet and the pricing of the .com domain. If, for some unstated reason, ICANN and all the registrars need more money to manage the internet, then I would prefer to have the price increase spread over all domains, and not just applied to the .com domain. Better still, I think the US Department of Commerce should have the sole authority to set the wholesale domain price. To reiterate, I reject the proposed .com RA amendment.
