I've read about the proposed price increases for .com registrations. A 7% price increase annually is outrageously high, over three times the current rate of inflation. ICANN is basically in a maintenance mode for the database, not a startup. With proper management controls on expenses and efficiencies, there appears to be little justification for these increases. Please do not raise the rates. I just do not understand. Is it every large companies desire to kill off all small businesses? I have had my domain name for my business for almost twenty one years. I still maintain a basic contact website for my business. I am a small 2 person business providing services to low to middle income families and seniors. Very little of my business is with businesses. We cater on a personal level. The constant increases in everything to market my business - usually without any increase in income - is a drain for any small business. If you want to charge more for new companies I can understand it but not for long existing businesses who helped create the internet as it is today. And to get into bed with a company for continued increases for the next 7-10 years is outrageous. So perhaps it is that your way of cleaning up the internet is to make the expense too much for small businesses. Is this the case? As a small business owner with multiple domains, I cannot afford to see increases on my properties. Verisign has no competition for its fees, unlike domain and registrar companies, and is merely a technical service provider. It should not have a say or influence in their pricing.

Hello, I do not agree with the price increase especially if there is no transparency regarding how the additional revenue will be spend. If it is going towards domain infrastructure then show how this revenue will benefit users and that is it not for personal gains only. I have many domains for my business and need to keep my costs low. This increase will not allow me to do so. I am curious how this increase is justified. Kind regards, //Lee

I am a student from developing countries. and I studying at Computer Science and Engineering, for do side project, I need to pay everything on my own and including hosting, server… So the domain name is one of part my project to do and need to pay, you know? Even the current price now is still high for me, but! The price is everyone paying now. So I may not complain with that. And I need to work hard to find money more to pay for this. ICAAN made those changes in secret, without any input or discussion with community and internet users.
