I own several .com domains. I strongly oppose the decision of this price increase. This not very smart and extremely selfish decision will affect and put in bad situation all small businesses and millions of individuals that use and own .com domains.

I just heard what you are proposing. raising the cost of the .com websites 8 out of 10 years do you realize what this is going to do to the little guy....like me? I have 6 .com addresses 4 are redirects, 2 are actual sites. Thanks to cheaper .com sellers I can afford those .com address But if you increase the cost then I can no longer have that many .com addresses. I think it is unfair to the little guy and I am asking you to leave it alone Leave it as it is please. Leave the little guys have there small business websites so they can afford the web address. I'm writing to express my dismay, concern, and disagreement with the proposed changes ICANN has submitted vis-a-vis the Verisign control of the .com TLD. I'm wary of putting verisign in control of the process because in my experience this will lead to higher prices at the expense of us registrants.

I am associated with the secondary market in domain names. I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. No one other than Verisign want increases in .COM prices. The current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified. Verisign is merely your manager of the .COM Registry – it has no business dictating the price. This behind close-doors-deal is extremely obvious, corrupt, and makes registering .com domains much less accessible to everyday people. This proposal to increase prices in order to receive $20 million dollars is obvious and short-sighted. It's not the smart or right move.

It’s my understanding that according to a new agreement between ICANN and Verisign, Verisign will be allowed to increase the wholesale price to registrars for .COM domains every year for 8 out of the next 10 years. This means that .COM prices can increase as much as 70% over the current prices over the next decade and will have a significant negative impact on businesses in the US, most of which make little to no profit each year. I believe there needs to be some price caps in place to protect the integrity of the domain name market and stability of small businesses and hobbiest using .COM domains. I am a registrant of several .com domain names. This price increase by Verisign is a theft. Not only will this theft hurt the internet as it is, but it will also hurt internet businesses of the future. It is only because Verisign wants to make a quick buck. But ICANN is also at fault here. Look this is stupid what we have works. I run a small business that’s 90% online. That’s how I make my living to provide for my wife and kid. If you increase the prices on the domain registration I will have to increase the prices of my product thus lowering my sales volume. That would make it much harder for me to earn my living and much harder provide for my family. Why are you doing this?
