Hello, Please do not raise the prices for .COM domain names. Domain's are already becoming rare and expensive. This increased price will make only larger companies afford to do business online. Alternatively, people will simply stop using .COM domain names and create a new leader TLD which will create great confusion for the older person using the internet. Sincerely, Jason Grim

I am a registrant of a couple of .COM domain names. I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. No one other than Verisign want increases in .COM prices. The current rate is more than justified for the service provided. Verisign is merely your manager of the .COM Registry – it has no business dictating the price. ICANN is supposed to govern the domain name system in the public interest. JJ Halans

As a web developer, web host, and freelance system administrator my livelihood depends on cheap domain names. The proposed contract will cause drastic price increases that will make it hard for small businesses, and web developers like me to operate on the internet. I do not support this!

I’m writing because I’m concerned about the increased cost associated with .com ownership and registration. Many .com owners are individuals, not businesses, using them for non income producing sites. Increasing the cost will likely damage the availability of information as people may decide to not renew their domain. Please do not increase these fees so dramatically! Hello, I am writing to you reference the increase in pricing for the .com domain. This price increase would negatively impact small business owners and many others. It is unfair to make secret deals. It is also efforts like this that will eventually lead to more government control, that none of us truly want to happen. It is unreasonable to increase prices to this degree. It is unreasonable to make secret deals when there are millions affected. I strongly urge you to retract this proposal and price increase. If it's .com this time around, what's next? Hi, I just learned about the potential raise of the .com domains due to deal made between the ICANN and verisign without asking for the public and end customer opinion. There are no technical reason that .com domains exploitation should be more expensive. Due to the improvement in technologly performance, it should actually be the opposite. This action will punished millions of organizations that have an established .com brand, but not necessary the means to maintain those domains due to price increase. I’m thinking about NGOs, small businesses, individuals that wants to protect their name. I’m asking you with respect to reverse this decision that has no justifications but increasing the profit of versign, at the cost of billions of internet users. Hello, I am strongly against shady deals behind closed doors, with clear intention of making the only 2 present parties more money at the expense of millions of people around the world. .COM is the most used TLD, and in a way the face of the internet. Raising prices, and shady deals like this help to erode the freedom and openness of the internet. Keep the internet open and free by keeping domain prices low and accessable to all.
