Good evening, As a small entrepreneur and a mother I find this greatly off putting that prices to the name of my website could dramatically increase in the next ten years. We know in our day and age that websites are essential to survive in business, our names are hard enough to create and protect and .com offers a more global reach but we also often have to purchase additional domain extension names to protect a brand. It is costly and the loss of a name due to dramatic increase costs for a small business or a small family blog can be devastating after so much investment. I find that a projected 7% increase is dramatic and way above local inflation for many countries. I am a registrant of a .com domain name. I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. No one other than Verisign want increases in .COM prices. Verisign is merely your manager of the .COM Registry – it has no business dictating the price. ICANN is supposed to govern the domain name system in the public interest.

70% increase to the price over 10 years is outrageous, I don't mind a price increase, but this kind of price gouging is not okay. It is even worse considering that ICANN will only be receiving 20 million USD over 5 years, that is 4 million a year, that's nothing for the amount of money this increase will generate, it will only benefit VeriSign and no one else. 100% against this, please do not move forward with this.

Hello, After reading upcoming changes i consider the behaviour of ICANN, especially as a public non-profit organization - unacceptable. If ICANN acts against the interests of the Internet community such way as it did, i am sure that ICANN reputation will be destroyed forever and the Internet community will begin to create alternatives, which will lead to chaos and fragmentation for a while. I demand an investigation into this apparently wrong decision, including, as reasons - possible corruption among ICANN leadership.

Yet again backroom deals are constraining the internet and its original vision. This from your own website - "It (ICANN) promotes competition and develops policy on the Internet's unique identifiers. Through its coordination role of the Internet's naming system, it does have an important impact on the expansion and evolution of the Internet." How then does a secret deal with a single entity like Verisign which is for profit while you are non-profit in any promote competition. Hello, I am writing to voice my opposition to Proposed Amendment 3. Despite there clearly being potential financial gains to be had by raising the registration fee on .com domains, the global DNS registration system should be run primarily as a public concern. The only entities that stand to benefit from the proposed arrangement are verisign itself, at the expense of the public. While price hikes such as this likely won't mean much to the larger business concerns that buy in bulk, it will impact the millions of small, independent businesses and developers that rely on the system as is to make their livelihood. At worst, this could prove yet another point of pressure that convinces a small business to make their online presence exclusively in the Facebook walled garden and eschew the web itself. The web, and global DNS, were envisioned to be run for the public good, and they SHOULD be run for the public good. I believe that the price increases allowed under this agreement are unnecessary, discriminatory, and will result in decreased access to the internet worldwide.
