The news about the increases and the management of the domains is impressive, really an increase of such a large proportion will not help entrepreneurship or the digital movement, what will happen in the future will be that large companies will be the ones who handle all domains and enterprises cannot pay and maintain their domain. They should reconsider the rising cost of domains and could be managed according to the movement and growth of the domain. Thank you and I hope that all entrepreneurs are heard. The proposed price increases are unnecessary and unjustified considering that the costs of hardware are lower year by year, and the costs of maintenance and development are going lower because of the ever increasing use of ".com" domains, which results in bigger revenue. Hello, These price increases make no sense! With the sheer number of .COM should already be generating a generous profit! These price increases, to me, look like a ransom demand. What costs are rising at this fast a pace to justify. With the large scale infrastructure, and huge volume of domains involved, I would think they could lower prices and still do quite well. I am a registrant of over 300 domain names. Verisign is merely your manager of the .COM Registry – it has no business dictating the price. This is just an excuse for profiteering. There is no additional value or service offered. And There are likely other organizations that would be happy to take over responsibility without raiding prices. I know I'm just a big part of the nobody's who are sending you email with regard to the issue and you might not even read my email, but the internet industry and small people like us will be heavily affected by this change. Hello, I am writing to voice my opposition to Proposed Amendment 3. Despite there clearly being potential financial gains to be had by raising the registration fee on .com domains, the global DNS registration system should be run primarily as a public concern. The only entities that stand to benefit from the proposed arrangement are verisign itself, at the expense of the public. While price hikes such as this likely won't mean much to the larger business concerns that buy in bulk, it will impact the millions of small, independent businesses and developers that rely on the system as is to make their livelihood. At worst, this could prove yet another point of pressure that convinces a small business to make their online presence exclusively in the Facebook walled garden and eschew the web itself. The web, and global DNS, were envisioned to be run for the public good, and they SHOULD be run for the public good. Deals such as this are an abdication of that mandate; short sighted profit chasing at the expense of all else. Please do not adopt this proposal. Best, Leo

That’s what this amendment will effectively do. We’re on track for Verisign to just own outright the most important TLD. Stop letting this happen, don’t let Verisign increase prices indefinitely (your freezes won’t stop them, they have the money to wait them out), and don’t let them be a registrar. We know what their plans are already.

Hi, I am a customer with a .com domain and I am concerned with this decision to this contract. My concerns are: 1. There will be price increases yearly that will be passed on to me as a consumer for .com domains 2. ICANN is getting bribed by Verisign by accepting $20million 3.
