I am a registrant of a .com domain name. I object to the proposal to raise the price of .COM domain names. Your actions can only be defined as greed. To whom it may concern I write to oppose the proposed increases in pricing for .com domains. With a monopolistic advantage, there is no incentive for Verisign (or any monopolistic company) to maintain or reduce prices for the individuals or small businesses who own those addresses. ICANN is a non-profit who has set these prices reasonably in the past with no degradation in service by their licensees. PC Warrington

To whom it may concern, I own many .com names and operate various websites, always paying on time. These changes would make my costs skyrocket for no reason. The backdoor way in which this was proposed is exactly the problem in the economy today. I say no. These changes would ripple through the internet for years to come. The changes were never discussed and are simply a scamy backdoor play to gouge the customer, they are not well thought out and will lead to the further deterioration of the internet. Please do not make the agreed upon price increase on .Com's. I can understand a pricing increase to allow for inflation, but with what is included in the proposal with Verisign, it is quite unfair. I am a registrant of several .com domain names. I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. This only helps support corporations like Verisign and hinders the growth of small business and private people who utilize .com to support themselves. ICANN is supposed to govern the domain name system in the public interest and not try to make a quick buck.

Hello, ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) is a for-profit US based company. As such it has the right to price it's products anyway it chooses. However, as the saying goes, with much power comes much responsibility. If ICANN is going to raise it's rates for .COM domains. Why has there been no discussion with all of the agents who sell these domains? ICANN exists to facilitate organize the Internet, correct? Then why does it not take input from the Internet before making wholesale decisions which affect the livelihood of millions of people. Also, why does it take money from corporations like Verisign in order to give them preferential treatment? And why does the Dept. of Justice allow this to go unpunished. ICANN is just like any other greedy corporation. They don't even consider the impact on jobs, commerce and people in general. I oppose this raise in price and I intend to let my representatives in the U.S. Government aware of this corporate cash grab.
