As a small business, every little charge affects our bottom line and our sustainability. The proposed change to allow .com wholesale domain prices to grow by more than 70% over the next decade doesn’t harm large corporations so much, but does affect mom and pop businesses like ours. Please reconsider allowing .com domains to increase in price by leaps and bounds beyond the pace of inflation. If some price increase is necessary for domain infrastructure, that is reasonable. But if it is merely to drive profits, it does so on the backs of hardworking small business owners and their employees. I think it’s absolutely horrendous that you negotiate behind closed doors to increase prices for .com registrations which will make it difficult for small business to remain viable in an internet heavy industry. I think it’s imperative to maintain an accessible pricing structure to allow for innovation and growth within the internet ecosphere even for brick and mortar stores. Please don’t make these changes. I’m a small business owner and every penny counts. You will put out of business those who are your customer base. If pricing increases too much you will force other avenues for small businesses, which may destroy your business model. I own 4 small businesses and help other businesses get established.
