To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing to protest ICANN’s recent changes to the contract it has with Verisign to operate the .COM TLD. I have read that the changes were made in secret, without consulting or incorporating feedback from the ICANN community or Internet
users. This is disturbing and deplorable because of contemplated price increases. Price increases by themselves are not a concern, but what is concerning is that there is no accountability for the new revenue, so potentially Verisign could use the additional
proceeds to pad its profits rather than benefit the Internet community. I believe the appropriate course of action would be to obtain community feedback about new fees and what the additional revenue should be used for.
Sincerely,
Wellie Chao
