I simply don't understand how ICANN, an organization whose mission is to manage some of the most important aspects of the public internet for the benefit of the public, an organization which claims to work in a "bottom-up, consensus-driven, multi-stakeholder model" can possibly even consider allowing a single entity such as Verisign to raise prices by 7% *every year*.
As others have noted, this may not be a big deal for big companies. It is a VERY big deal for those of us INDIVIDUALS who own a couple of domains and want / need to keep them.
I strongly urge you to walk away from this HORRIBLE deal for the public that you are supposed to serve.
