As a fairly new domain “owner” I am annoyed, but not surprised at the attempt to control the costs and process of securing domain names by Verisign.

I guess the recent acquittal of DJT and the bailouts of the auto industry and banking meltdown have led to the perception that nobody gives a damn about monopolies anymore.

You already have the only game in town, but evidently that’s not enough.

So you can put me down on record for objecting to the proposed deal and the lack of transparency on where the increased fees are going and whether Verisign will gain an unfair advantage in the process.
