I am a registrant of a .com domain name and I am against the proposed price increase to .com domains. I think the amount the current rate is now is more than is needed, and I believe that raising the price of .com domains could be inhibitory to a more diverse internet, filled with individuals who are looking to make a small business or market themselves on the internet to future employers.

ICANN is supposed to govern the domain name system in the public interest, and I don't believe kowtowing to Verisign is beneficial to the public.
