Hello,
After reviewing the description of changes proposed in Amendment 3 of the .COM registry agreement, I do not believe that adopting the amendment is the best step forward for consumers or business. The increase in price for .COM domain name registration will add additional financial burden to many small-business owners and individual craftspeople who may rely on a .com website as their only way to connect with customers. The proposed amendment does not give justification for the proposed price hike either. Verisign will contribute $20 million over 5 years (a small fraction, I’m sure, of the total increase they would receive from this amendment) to unspecified “initiatives” taken by ICANN, none of which appear to directly benefit the consumers who are paying more for their domain names.
In conclusion, I am against the adoption of the Proposed Amendment 3.
Sincerely,
A
