I am a registrant of multiple .com domain names. I am OPPOSED to the proposed price increase to .COM domains, if anything they should be lowered because it costs less each year to manage .COM: the current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified. ICANN is supposed to govern the domain name system in the public interest, not to the benefit of Verisign.
