This raising of prices on .COM domains is unjust and threatens the balance of a free and open world wide web. If anything ICANN should be fighting to protect the global public's interests no those of giant corporations. Verisign should not be allowed to monopolize the defacto default domain. .COM has and continues to be the most popular and trusted of domains. To allow corporate interest to behave as a rent seeking organization and siphon money off of the web is an affront to the global information community.
