I am a registrant of several .com domain names.

I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. No one other than Verisign want increases in .COM prices. Verisign is merely your manager of the .COM Registry – it has no business dictating the price. ICANN is supposed to govern the domain name system in the public interest.

If the cost of managing .COM names were increasing, I would have no problem with a gradual price increase, or finding a company other than Verisign to manage the registry if they could do it cheaper. However, based on the costs we know, and the costs of the new gTLDs, that does not appear to be the case.

I'm highly disappointed that ICANN is relinquishing control of its responsibilities.
