The internet and .com are almost synonymous, and the proposed pricing increase by 70% is excessive and unwarranted. Furthermore, there is a lack of clarity about how ICANN will spend the money, or who will ensure that the funds are actually spent on domain infrastructure instead of lining individual pockets.
