As a small business owner and owner of several .COM domains, I oppose the proposed Amendment 3 to the .COM registry. While the fee increases are limited to 7% per year, it appears that no justification is required for the increases up to the 7% limit. Therefore it seems that Verisign, as a for profit company, may seek to increase prices solely for profitability and not for reasons related to the security and stability of the domain name service. I request that further limits be placed on fee increases such that justification is required to show that the increases are related to the security, stability and performance of the .COM TLD.
