Promising use of software for life and a few years later having to upgrade for a fee.
It has become a capitalistic nightmare.

Domain names have become a for profit monster.
Humans charging thousands of dollars for domain names they bought only for speculation.
Your proposal to increase the wholesale price to registrars of .COM domains is of no help at all.
