I strongly oppose the proposed amendment. While I agree that some price increase should be allowed to keep up with inflation, but allowing an increase of 7% for 8 out of 10 years in the next decade in preposterous. Especially since Verisign has a monopoly over the .com registry.

Even taking into account the price freeze since 2012, an average inflation rate of about 2% should lead to about an increase of 43% over 18 years (2012–2030). The proposed amendment allows Verisign to increase prices by up to 72%, which is unacceptable.
