As a consumer of domain registration services, can recall the days
where Network Solutions held a monopoly and charged USD $35 per year
per domain.
Compute and bandwidth costs have only come down in price over time.
Given that registrars are not providing any additional value, it is
unfair to consumers who have no real choice in any reasonable
alternatives because of ICANN's monopoly, to increase prices,
especially in light of the fact that costs should only continue to
decline as compute and bandwidth costs continue to decrease over
time.
