As a neophyte businesswoman and writer, affordable domain prices are absolutely vital for me to be able to have a viable presence online. Additionally, market choice is supposed to be the foundational benefit of Capitalism, but by allowing Verisign to take over so many of the transactions and by allowing a form of regulatory capture via funding, ICANN is not promoting a neutral and fair internet marketplace that allows for competition, but is skewing the numbers to benefit a few. Please consider carefully before allowing the kind of creeping cronyism this decision will enable. Please do not sharpen the pyramid of our economy, but allow those of us just starting our climb to have and keep a fair chance at success in the internet marketplace of ideas.
