Dear ICANN,
now that we have "custom TLDs" that generate considerable revenue, it makes little sense to increase the cost of a well-established "default" TLD which most SMBs and startups default to.
Please do weigh the public interest voices against this proposal carefully. Should Verisign not wish to continue under the same terms, there are registry managers ready to replace them with virtually zero effort on your part.
As many have already pointed out, the current price is already questionable in light of the level of management automation and the volume of domains sold. If any changes are expected from a public-interest point of view, TLDs as popular as .com should decrease in price.
