[Comments-com-amendment-3-03jan20] Price change feedback
For the record, I have no problem with prices going up over time, but the proposed changes seem excessive under the circumstances. Firstly, for a non-profit organization with the stated goals of promoting competition and broad community representation, the likelihood of these price increases having a substantial negative effect on those goals is very, very high. Secondly, the process was reputedly conducted in direct conflict with the ICANN mandate to conduct its mission through community consensus. If it's true that the negotiation of these price increases was exclusively between ICANN and Verisign, that is definitely inappropriate. I don't know the remedy for such malfeasance but am quite sure that there would be follow-up to correct such malfeasance if any.
