I am a domain owner and I oppose the increase in .com price. If ICANN is going to relinquish it's role in pricing oversite, the management of .com should be bid out and not assigned to a single entity with no competitive pricing. In addition, the $20m kickback to fund undisclosed ICANN programs establish a poor practice of "pay to play" when dealing with ICANN. ICANN should be working in a transparent manner in the public interest and not looking to fund itself while allowing a private company to monopolize the registration process and prices.
