As the owner of several .com domains, I would like to lodge my dissatisfaction at this process, especially the lack of transparency. Verisign is a commercial organisation and has no vested interest in maintaining the status quo of the internet. To grant a TLD operator license to sell domains is also a clear violation of conflict of interest. ICANN receiving $20m from this contract does a significant amount of damage to ICANN's reputation.
