The proposed amendment is not in the best interest of the Internet community. Verisign will reap massive profits on something they arguably can no longer take any credit for. The .COM namespace should now be considered public property not to be held hostage by one registrar. If you are unable to enact a policy which fulfills that objective, at least do no harm.
