I am opposed to any agreement between ICANN and Verisign that might result in an increase of fees for COM domains. The fees are already too high and many alternative TLD's already have significantly lower fees. Increasing the fees will cause me to register with a different TLD. But, having to do so will cost me money by having to inform all my customers of a domain name change.
