These price increases that are planned with out a democratic audience seem a bit out of place in today’s society. It also seems like greed and arrogance are in the way. This isn’t supply and demand, this is 2 business being assholes because they can. Domains should be for all to weigh in on. It isn’t ICANN or Verisign’s invention that was copyrighted and trademarked to sell, no it’s a digital means that the entire population has buy in on. The domains need better structure and support, leading the rest of the World Wide Web into a great cyber future. Regulating prices and how they are governed is a far better solution that will advantageously impact the Internet for years to come.
