This proposal seems like an out of touch cash grab. Does Verisign really need an additional $750 million per YEAR to continue doing what they are currently doing? Tech gets cheaper over time - so this is just pure profit. If ICANN needs funding ($20 mil goes to them) - just raise once by a dollar and get 10x.
