[Comments-com-amendment-3-03jan20] Proposed change to RA re:price cap increase for dotcom domains
The proposed change is obvious nonsense, and should be rejected immediately. Obviously when this was first announced very obvious and reasonable arguments against it were made, and yet the proposal persists. Does anyone’s opinion matter regarding this? It would seem not, but regardless I will restate the reasons why the proposal is a terrible idea. This increase will stifle innovation, and serve only to rip the internet from the hands of the people and give control of it to the wealthy few. The proposed price change serves only to increase corporate control over the internet. The facetious “remedy” allowing registrants to pre-buy registrations up to 10 years in advance is absurd and does nothing to address the problem created by the proposed increase. Eric
