I am concerned about increasing prices for what are basically necessities. Small businesses and individuals who use domain names can have significant impact on their budgets with increases.  The big question is what are these extra monies even going to be used for. Basic infrastructure is already there; business flow is already established. It seems unless some major changes are taking place, increases and large payments should not be needed.  Most scary is the fact that many changes being made in companies, especially those of this nature, end up being a larger invasion of privacy.
