I strongly oppose the proposed changes and price increases for the .com TLD. They far outstrip normal inflation rates and the rates should, if anything go down due to large scale efficiencies as more customers share the operational costs among themselves. This does not happen, instead a private entity is allowed to profit and there is no open competition for a more cost-effective replacement. These changes will only exacerbate the problem.
