I went thru the hassle of letting Windows have access to my Gmail account just so that I could participate in this discussion. Then, once I knew which email to sent, I disconnected. That the hassle of switching to other dot extensions would be too inconvenient and most of us would just pay more. It's a pretty good strategy. But, anyway, I won’t be one of the “most”, even if I could afford the increases comfortably. Instead, with every dollar increase, I will use it as impetus to increase my capacity to deal with “hassles”. See, 30% of my dot coms are just redirect domains and domains maybe I will use properly in the future. With every dollar increase, I will… minimize (as in minimalism) and get rid of some of them. Once, I’ve culled the 30% (with your encouragement), I will use further increases to… diversify to other dot extensions. Or heck, just switch everything to Facebook or Instagram. Social media is gobbling up most of the traffic anyway. Besides, smartphone screens are so small that people can’t even see if the site has a dot com, and well – considering the extremely limited character space, it’s probably prudent to go with dot extensions which forms the last bit of the website’s name. Ex. Instead of Amazon.com, it’s just Ama.zon . Minimalism applies to domains as well, don’t you think? And hassles and inconveniences can be turned into opportunities for self-betterment.
