I am not aware of any reason for the price of domain registration to be increased. The cost-per-domain to operate a registry has only dropped as infrastructure has gotten cheaper, and that trend shows no sign of reversing. The .COM registry runs extremely efficiently at large scale. There is no reason for prices to outpace inflation, and indeed one would expect them to be _dropping_. This change is not sensible.
