I oppose the amendment to the Verisign, Inc contract. It is a bad deal for the internet, the world at large, and most of the people dwelling on earth. It is a bad deal for everyone other than Verisign, Inc and ICANN because the deal could result in substantially higher prices for .com top level domains (TLDs). The increase is far too great. Further, what essentially equates to kickbacks from Verisign to ICAAN are immoral. The contract should be opened to the free market for bidding, prior to such a large price increase. Or a scheme should be developed for multiple companies to manage .com TLDs, thereby creating competition. -Karl D
