[Comments-com-amendment-3-03jan20] Totally against!
The proposed changes are not only a travesty in terms of cost, but also in how they undermine continued efforts to prevent technological monopolies. How can the entity in charge of domains be a registrar itself? How can you increase the price of domains without any external input? How can you receive further funding from verisign without explaining properly why, or what it'll be used for? This is a complete and utter misuse and abuse of the power monopoly you hold over TLDs and it will have tremendous impact on millions, particularly those of US in developing economies. You are not above considering external feedback. You are not above considering the impact of your decision. You are not above being held accountable for receiving funds seemingly in exchange for preferential treatment. The proposed changes and their unilaterally convenience go against the very core beliefs that started the world wide web. You are increasing your monopoly instead of ensuring accessibility. It's disgraceful.
