This is an outrageous money grab. In a technology market where most product decrease in cost over time due to increased efficiency this is going the wrong direction. We now have dozens of TLDs to choose from which should have increased competition and lowered prices, yet they’re all even more expensive than .com. This unfortunately isn’t just about .com, such an extreme price increase would set a precedent for .org and others to sky rocket their pricing.
