Dear ICANN, I am a registrant of a .com domain name. This TLD has been around since the beginning of the internet. It is not a special-interest TLD but a basic part of providing service to all. The The current rate of $7.85 is already more than other basic and country TLDs. The public has an interest in reserving some basic domain names that are affordable to all, and not turning the internet registration system into a for-profit enterprise.
