This proposed removal of price caps on .info domains is pure greed at work. How much sense does someone need to recognize the devastating impact this move would have on the public, on business endeavors, on people’s lives? Not everyone who owns a .info domain is rolling in money, and price cap removal could seriously damage small businesses, among other things. Case in point: My family owns a small business which is our entire livelihood. Our website for that business is a .info domain. If price caps are removed, we will potentially lose that website and be forced to rebuild elsewhere, which will cost a great deal of money, time, and energy. It will create a huge hiccup in our operations, the ramifications of which will ripple outward for a long time, and there is a chance our business would never recover. Beyond having to buy a new domain and build a new website, we would have to pay for new business cards, new branding, and a marketing campaign to *hopefully* direct our customers to the new website instead of the old one. This will create confusion in our customers, and many of them will get lost in the cracks. We will lose business. Which means we will have less money for food, bills, clothing, and our quality of life and the quality of our 2 children’s lives will suffer. This is a REAL scenario in the real world. Please consider the impact your choices here will have on people, and reconsider this proposal to remove price caps on .info domains. In Faith, Katherine Roberts

This is an abusive act. The pricing of domains determines which organizations can afford to be on the web with a unique identifier. This is going to stop many organizations with limited funds from having a web presence. Please do not increase the price of .info domains.

The .info domain name is used by many organizations that participate in the dissemination of information important to the open-ended discussions that support the democratic process. It would be a tax on free speech to impose a cost that is not tethered to some objective measure, such as inflation rate. .info is one of the few remaining "neutral" TLDs, i.e. without an implicit association towards commerce, academia, country, etc. Removing the price cap will lead to auctioning off names and a land grab, effectively moving it to where .com already is. Please keep .info open - as in affordable - to everyone.

Hi, I'm writing to ask ICANN to reconsider removing the registration fee caps on .info domains. These domains are used by nonprofit trade associations and charities. Donators and members give them funds to accomplish our nonprofit missions, and while they understand there are essential operating costs, the idea of turning domain registries into a profit stream at the expense of organisations trying to improve the world would not be well received. The current arrangements have worked well - please don't allow nonprofit organization to be subjected to this unfair and uncapped fee increase. Kind regards, Tom

Increasing the price of a product that is already overpriced as the product doesn't really exist anyway, costs very little to maintain the registry, can only be seen as exploitation and must lead to business suicide. I have already dropped my ownership of many domains due to the increase of prices over the years and my business has not suffered at all, so this move will simply put the nail in the coffin for me. Good luck with your plans.
